What are you ‘THIRSTY’ for today?

Are you craving the things of God or the desires of the flesh? The word of God says, “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied.” (Matthew 5:6) When we align our thirst with righteousness, we find ourselves blessed, satisfied, full, and content! The world and flesh distract us from what is pure, holy, righteous, and truly satisfying to our souls! We must realign our thirst with what truly satisfies us!

Righteousness, by definition, is acting in accord with divine or moral law: free from guilt or sin (Webster). To thirst for righteousness, is essentially to desire everything that aligns with Heaven and God’s purpose for our lives. A life aligned with Heaven, is a life free from guilt, sin, shame, and blame. Don’t mistake thirsting for righteousness, as a life full of performance and perfection. It is a heart posture of staying in alignment at all cost. When we fail, we get back up. When we sin, we repent, and run back to the Father. When we are tempted, we turn our affection toward Christ. It’s like a magnetic pull back to what is good, what is right, and what is Holy! It’s denying the flesh and dying to ourselves daily!

Have you ever craved something so intensely that nothing satisfied until you had it? When we thirst after the things of God and fill ourselves with righteousness, we are satisfied and find ourselves fulfilled in Him. Nothing else in this world will fulfill! All of it is temporary satisfaction, leaving you thirsting for more!

As I examine myself, I also invite you to examine your hearts, thought life, and actions today, and assess if they are in alignment with Heaven? Are you seeking the word of God as your plum line and standard? Are you willing to surrender everything that doesn’t look, sound, or resemble His divine nature? Are you ready to be full and satisfied in Him?

I saw a picture of someone holding onto something that they know is not good for them, however they are having a hard time letting it go. You know that this thing is not truly satisfying or in alignment with God’s best, however it’s fulfilling a part of you. I see the Father asking you to let it go and to trust Him with your heart. What seems big is actually very small in comparison to the giant UPGRADE the Father has for you! I declare COURAGE over you today as you make a choice to let go of the temporary and grab hold of your upgrade!

Love & Courage,

Diane Anil
