When I’ve walked through difficult situations in my life, I’ve learned that ‘Abiding’ in Christ is the key to unlocking Heaven’s solutions. Abiding replaces fear with faith, torment with peace, hopelessness with hope, and self reliance with security and comfort in Christ. To abide, means to “accept or act in accordance with something.” Essentially, it’s accepting that our circumstances may not be ideal, however we will choose to act in accordance with Christ. This means acting in faith, walking in the spirit, aligning with truth, fixing our mind on things above, and choosing to see through Heaven’s perspective. Abiding is a choice, not a feeling! It requires us to allow the spirit to rule over our emotions and unhealthy defaults. Ultimately, we choose to operate in accordance to the culture of Heaven, not enslaved to our flesh. When we abide, we choose to remain and stay fixed in Christ. We choose to think like Jesus, behave like Jesus, and remain in Jesus. Abiding is an intentional effort of submission and surrender to a supernatural state, unlike your natural disposition. It takes hard work! It’s choosing to die daily. In many ways, I’m going back to the foundations of abiding in Jesus and assessing my attachment to Christ alone. At times, I’ve realized that my default is isolation, survival, and self reliance when things get unbearably difficult. It’s a sobering experience that requires humility and self compassion. I’m in a place of rewiring my mindset and shifting my defaults. As I asked Jesus, HOW to ABIDE daily, He simply replied with “Go low, go slow, stay close, listen to my voice, and follow my direction.” This means slowing down in our thoughts, words, and actions. It means prioritizing intimacy and the secret place above everything else. It means asking Jesus for His perspective, His direction, His wisdom, and His response in all situations. It requires listening, however it’s not enough to just listen, we must OBEY at all cost! No matter how unnatural it feels, how unjust something seems, or how it simply makes no sense. Are you abiding in Christ or have you cut the branch from the vine? We often cut the branch because of trauma, wounds, disappointment, or fear. We choose to take control by removing ourselves from the true source of life, and take our circumstances into our own hands. We must reattach to the vine through confession and repentance. This is the gateway to connection with Christ. No longer striving or struggling in our flesh. It’s choosing to take ourselves off life support, which only offers temporary solutions. When we abide, we connect back to our life line, our source of everything we need. Abiding is the key that unlocks Heaven on Earth in our lives. Abiding is the key that unlocks supernatural solutions in impossible circumstances. Abiding is everything. 🗝🔐🔑
